Michigan Monuments
There are three separate Michigan monuments on the Chickamauga National Military Park. There was one dedicated on Snodgrass Hill for the 10th, 21st, and 22nd Infantries. The monument on Snodgrass Hill was designed by Maurice Powers Company of New York. The second monument is at Jay’s Mill Road and was dedicated to the Second and Fourth Cavalry; Artillery Batteries B and D; and the 9th, 11th, and 13th Infantries. The Monument at Jay’s Mill Road was designed by the Smith and Granite Company of Westerly, Rhode Island. The last Michigan Monument is located on Glenn-Viniard/ Vittetoe Chickamauga Road. This monument was dedicated to the 21st Detached Infantry and was designed by The Venerable Brothers Company.
